The coupling of magnetostaticwave energy into and out of ferrimagnetic films using flatcurrent carrying conducting strips is discussed. An electrical equivalentcircuit model is developed, from which insertion loss is derived for a magnetostatic wave delay line, made up oftwo multi-element transducers and a yttrium-iron garnetfilm. Experimental and theoretical comparisons are made and the range ofvalidity of present magnetostatic models is discussed.
