Abstract:This paper presents a method for the efficient analysis of multilayered frequency selective surfaces (FSS) integrated with phased arrays of open-ended waveguides. Using the unit periodic cell approach, the structure is represented as an equivalent multi-mode transmission line network, where each periodic surface (array or FSS) is characterized by an equivalent immittance matrix, computed through a full-wave analysis based on the method of moment technique. This approach provides an useful tool for the design of integrated planar FSS for phased array antennas.
