In this example we consider a waveguide transition from Ku- to X-band by a simple step discontinuity (as shown in Figure 20-1) using two solution methods available in FEKO. The model is first simulated using the MoM using waveguide ports and then using the FEM and modal ports. The rectangular waveguide dimensions are a=15.8 mm and b=7.9 mm for the Ku-band waveguide, and a=22.9 mm and b=10.2 mm for the X-band waveguide, respectively. Only the H10 mode is considered. .S:(O+#Gm
