Recently, feed structures using electromagnetic coupling for microstrip antennas ]1KF3$n0  
have been proposed and investigated because of their ease in fabrication and integration ::k/hP9.^  
with active devices. Aperture-coupled, slot-fed, coplanar waveguide-fed and slot line-fed x):h|/B  
microstrip antennas are categorized as electromagnetically excited microstrip antennas. y/Q,[Uzk\  
Since the slot is common for these electromagnetically excited microsmp antennas, its d?OsVT;U  
applications to circular polarization (CP) operation are studied in this paper. Although 0hju@&Aa  
simple design formulas for probe-fed CP microsmp antennas have been obtained using the >Co5_sCe  
cavity model theory [I], [2], similar design formulas for a slot-fed CP case have been ;c>IM]  
developed only recently [3]. Using these formulas for an arbitrarily oriented slot-fed )u5+<OG}=  
microsmp antenna, the CP performances for the fxst three types .. d-$/C| J
