Recently, feed structures using electromagnetic coupling for microstrip antennas EQd<!)HZ  
have been proposed and investigated because of their ease in fabrication and integration V.qH&FJ=l  
with active devices. Aperture-coupled, slot-fed, coplanar waveguide-fed and slot line-fed aT}Hc5L,b  
microstrip antennas are categorized as electromagnetically excited microstrip antennas. C#yRop_d]o  
Since the slot is common for these electromagnetically excited microsmp antennas, its =H;'.!77Hx  
applications to circular polarization (CP) operation are studied in this paper. Although !QbuOvw  
simple design formulas for probe-fed CP microsmp antennas have been obtained using the E"S#d&9  
cavity model theory [I], [2], similar design formulas for a slot-fed CP case have been |3T2}ohrr  
developed only recently [3]. Using these formulas for an arbitrarily oriented slot-fed G8%VL^;O*5  
microsmp antenna, the CP performances for the fxst three types .. 2@ 9?~?r
