Non Linear Transmission Line (NLTL) technologies S

have been proposed over a number of years as a means .e0)@}Jv8>  
of achieving various high power pulse shaping u$^tRz9  
functions. BAE SYSTEMS has been involved in the DqQp47kp  
development of a particular form of NLTL technology WtZI1`\qe  
capable of producing high power pulsed RF -GFZFi  
waveforms with frequencies between 100's of MHz CnL=s6XD'  
and 1-2GHz and with powers of the order of 25MW +={
K -g7U  
and above. Benefits due to the use of NLTLs are the >nSt<e  
all-solid-state nature of the RF modulator system and w -o#=R_  
the accurate pulse to pulse frequency and timing F<b'{qf"  
control which may be achieved. In this paper the Z[IM\# "  
fundamentals of the technology are explored and the MAkr9AKb,  
potential for a system to array a number of NLTL =[]6NjKS,  
elements and produce extremely high peak powers and I4jRz*Ufe?
