Abstract - In order to improve the performance of protection 0S'EnmG  
systems of generators against armature faults, it is desirous to ,@P3!|  
study the operation of synchronous machines with internal faults ]03!KE  
iri stator windings. For this purpose, based on the multi-loop Jus)cO#I  
m.odel and FEM, a saturate model of synchronous generators is _z}d yp"I  
e:;tablished. The state equation of the multi-loop model is timestepped /knt5  
forward, during which FEM is used to calculate the E&97;VH  
winding EMF under saturate condition. The full synergic effects 4gYP .h:,  
or space harmonics resulting from the magnetic circuit geometry, :!3P4?a  
saliency, saturation, winding layouts. slotting, and time harmonics LIR2B"3F  
resulting from the non-sinusoidal currents, are included in the E=LaPjEIj
