Abstract - A liquid crystal study was performed, in order to |a{~Imz{  
determine the relative effective electric permittivity, using a "79"SSfOc  
microwave simulation method Three thermotropic types of ML-?#jNa<  
liquid crystals: nematic, smectic and chotesteric were considered ;rjd?r  
and their structures were simulated with the help of a } Rs@  
microwave simulation program: High Frequency Structure Nub)]S>_/t  
Simulator (HFSS - Ansoft Technologies). An analysis method +u|p<z  
based on physical considerations for the caiculation of the 6>R|B?I%  
effective permittivity of the considered structures was used for vAH`tPi>  
the frequency range 7.8 - 12.4 GHz, where the precision of the {- Y.C
