The National Ignition Facility (NIF) Power ~j=xiP  
Conditioning System (PCS) is a modular capacitive ARPKzF`Wq  
energy storage system that will be capable of storing %1Yz'AiW[  
nearly 400 MJ of electrical energy and delivering that oFWt(r   
energy to the nearly 8000 flashlamps in the NIF laser. \ jECSV|  
The first sixteen modules of the power conditioning ?Phk~ jE  
system have been built, tested and installed. Activation of >xT^RYS  
the first nine power conditioning modules has been js~tKUvg  
completed and commissioning of the first “bundle” of 3)}(M
