We describe an academic research program designed to gD-<^Q-  
investigate fundamental issues that will impact future ZPXxrmq%  
pulsed power technology. The project is intended to WkT4&|POJ  
enhance the scientific footing for pulsed power, and to T!8,R{V]4  
address issues in the development of compact, repetitive GE|V^_|i  
pulsed power. These include physics issues implicit in =cxjb,r  
switch development, including both solid state and gasphase, @>:r'Fmu-  
pulse generation at various levels from extremely Kg56.$  
small for fast high field generation to >100kV, and 4g|}]K1s  
applications including ignition of jet fuels and biological  0y?bwxkc  
response to electric fields. >y
