Abstract-Reflector antennas with mesh surfaces are used extensively in -,uTAk0+@  
many satellite and ground antenna systems. A strip-aperture modeling of ^QpP'  
commonly used mesh surfaces is presented which provides considerable Y]Vt&*{JV  
versatility in characterizing the mesh cells. The mesh transmission coefficients Xg^`fRg =T  
are constructed using a Floquet-modal expansion in conjuction !)?n n3  
with two dominant aperture modes. To account for the mesh 5qt]~v%y  
local coordinates, the Enlerian angle transformation is invoked to obtain K;k_MA310  
the total induced current on the curved reflector surface. General formulas K#%L6=t$<  
are presented to show how the solid snrface induced current is modified 3 i Id>  
due to the transmission throught he mesh. The effects of a variety of mesh (]w_}E]N  
configurations on both the eo-polar and cross-polar patterns of reflector <ZSH1~<{6  
antennas are studied by numerically evaluating the vector diffraction ,5mK_iUw3  
integral using the Jacobi-Bessel expansion. For some special cases, a 58DkVQ6  
comparison is made with the resnlts of the commonly used wire-grid g1@zk$
