Abstract-Reflector antennas with mesh surfaces are used extensively in GGchNt  
many satellite and ground antenna systems. A strip-aperture modeling of 4U1"F 7'  
commonly used mesh surfaces is presented which provides considerable cc$+"7/J^c  
versatility in characterizing the mesh cells. The mesh transmission coefficients `=f1rXhI+1  
are constructed using a Floquet-modal expansion in conjuction T1r^.;I:  
with two dominant aperture modes. To account for the mesh %O3 r>o=  
local coordinates, the Enlerian angle transformation is invoked to obtain Xa32p_|5~  
the total induced current on the curved reflector surface. General formulas 3:WXrOl  
are presented to show how the solid snrface induced current is modified (1b%);L7  
due to the transmission throught he mesh. The effects of a variety of mesh FzGla})  
configurations on both the eo-polar and cross-polar patterns of reflector kzLtI w&.  
antennas are studied by numerically evaluating the vector diffraction lGP'OY"Q  
integral using the Jacobi-Bessel expansion. For some special cases, a =24<d!R  
comparison is made with the resnlts of the commonly used wire-grid e#$ZOK)`
