Abstract—We present a fast and accurate closed-form model for interactive Wx-0Ip'9  
computer-aided design and optimization of circular microstrip CJN~

antennas on suspended or composite substrates. The model facilitates the ( xooU 8d  
computation of the resonance frequency,input impedance and bandwidth. *D%w r'!>  
We compare the results obtained with the proposed model with those from )@DDs(q=i  
commercial software (2D-Ensemble and 3D-Microwave Studio),pr eviously >U*p[FGW  
published experimental results and previously obtained theoretical 1]''@oh{6U  
results using another full-wave method. The proposed model shows better vaiw*?jV  
agreement with experimental results as compared to the commercial Rnwm6nu  
two-dimensional and three-dimensional software. Although all theoretical \l(J6T

results show reasonable agreement among themselves,the proposed model ShC$ue?Q  
is at least one thousand times faster than full-wave software. u4FD}nV
