By adding a loop to an exponentially flared (e!Yu#-  
TEM horn and properly adjusting the loop structure, SAf)#HXa  
a TEM hom antenna with low-frequency /n>vPJvz  
compensation is designed. The added loop structure, G973n  
together with the hom a m , provide:an equivalent *14:^neoI  
magnetic-dipole moment at low frequency to s~B)xYmyB'  
combine with the electric-dipole moment formed vUO[V$rx  
between the two arms of the TEM hom. The lowfrequency |*h{GX.(  
radiation can be enhanced effectively 8'TIDu  
when the two moments meet the balance condition. 7P*\|Sxk%  
The performance of the designed TEM hom sMUpkU-  
antenna, including the radiated field stiengths on 7F~gA74h  
and off the bore-sight direction, the front-to-back |S@
  
ratio, the reflection from insides of the hom, and #8M^;4N>[  
the field dist?ibution on the hom aperture, is studied Z(R0IW  
and compared to ordinary TEM hom by using [P ;fv
