Abstract—A new method of increasing the bandwidth of ,uhOf! |  
normal-mode helical antennas (NMHAs) is proposed. The antenna dj:6c@n  
has length of around 0.1 of the target wavelength, and pM_oIH'8:  
consists of a helix constructed with two flat wire strips. The idP2G|Z  
method exploits the two current modes of the two-wire design to iFB {a?BE  
obtain wideband response. Based on an analysis of the equivalent 8CGjI?j  
circuits of the two modes and subsequent optimization of design cY%6+uJ1  
parameters, a final two-strip NMHA design is proposed that is g5hMZPOmP  
demonstrated to have a bandwidth of 12% in the 760-MHz band ":Ll.=!
