Abstract-The conical monopole antenna with a section of continuous eG7Yyz+t$  
resistive loading is considered as a radiator for temporally T@A Qe[U'v  
short, broad-bandwidth pulses. The geometrical details of the H*e+ 2  
coaxial feed and the resistive loading are varied to “optimize” aW-6$=W  
this structure for pulse radiation. Compared with the perfectly m!5Edo-;<  
conducting cone, the optimized resistive cone radiates a better y
d=b!\}WJ  
reproduction of the pulse excitation with no loss in amplitude, dci<Rz`h  
and has internal reflections that are much smaller in amplitude. (x fN=Te,-
