Abstract—Atime-domain noise model is developed for analyzing the performance PVg<Ovi^d  
degradation of wireless communication systems in the 2.4-GHz xO_>%F^?  
band caused by microwave ovens, taking into account the noise generation t+w{uwEY  
mechanism and its characteristics. The proposed noise model consists of aX1b(h2  
a series of frequency-modulated tone bursts, which can be realized with a u<8b5An;  
set of FM/AM modulators. It yields a simple and general expression of the 7j)ky2r#  
noise waveform in terms of six parameters that can be determined from GXxI=,L8F  
measurements. Band-limited noise waveforms can also be derived from the Xfg3q.q  
model via simple approximations. Comparisons of both the waveform and t Cb34Wpf  
the frequency spectrum are made between actual noises and the proposed n UmyPQ~
