Wideband applications become still more important in l"-D@]"  
terrestrial microwave communications nowadays. Propagation 0+L5k!1D  
conditions significantly affect the quality of IL~yJx_11  
microwave communication systems. In order to assess /eE P^)h  
the influence of inhomogeneous atmosphere on the propagation $yt|nO  
conditions, simulations of electromagnetic wave 5p~Z-kU&  
propagation are utilized. A parabolic equation method J@$>d  
(PEM) is often applied for the purpose of terrestrial Fm@GU  
microwave simulations. This method can calculate single 4jXyA/F9V  
frequency response efficiently. This paper deals with cB<

an application of an interpolation technique to speed LvR=uD  
the calculation of a wideband frequency response at one c{E-4PYbah  
receiver point. A complex received signal is modeled as CzK X}  
the weighted sum of complex exponentials. The complex 3"B|w^6'2  
exponential model parameters are extracted by means of 8xNKVj)@  
the matrix pencil method. Numerical examples of the |k^X!C0  
application of the method are introduced. Results are l+#`  
compared with the channel transfer functions computed S`-z$ph}
