[EMC]Cavity Model for the Slot Radiation of an Enclosure Excited by Printed Circuit Board Traces

Abstract—Traces on a printed circuit board (PCB) couple to the Vr|sRvz  
cavity consisting of the PCB ground plane and a metallic enclosure bL6, fUS  
cover. We introduce this common-mode coupling of a PCB trace <Qx]"ZP%  
to the cavity field by an analytical model that is verified with 3-D ./Y5Vk#Rp\  
simulations using HFSS. The cavity field causes radiated emission 2. t'!uwI  
fromthe slots of the cavity. For an accurate calculation of the cavity pA~eGar_J  
field inside the enclosure and the radiated emission, we consider `vMrlKq  
the radiation loss by amultiport approach. Comparisons of the an- _?aI/D  
alytical results for the radiated field to measurements show good x_X%|f  
agreement. Radiated emission can be calculated for arbitrary geo- qm!&(8NfK
