The Third International Congress on Advanced Electromagnetic Materials in Microwaves and Optics — Metamaterials 2009 is organized by the Metamorphose Virtual Institute and is hosted by Queen Mary University of London.

The Congress sessions will include:

Invited Plenary and Focused Session Talks
Oral Presentations
Interactive Poster Forums
European Doctoral School on Metamaterials

The Congress will address a wide area of research in artificial electromagnetic materials and surfaces and their applications from microwave to optical frequencies. The conference topics encompassing general theory, design, applications, fabrication and measurements include but are not limited to:

Physics of complex electromagnetic materials
Micro- and nano-fabrication of metamaterials
Experimental studies and characterization of metamaterials
Analytical and numerical modelling of metamaterials
Homogenization of metamaterials and effective medium models
Three-dimensional metamaterials
Planar metamaterial structures, meta-surfaces and meta-sheets
Metamaterials for nano-electronics and nano-antennas
Carbon nanotubes and graphene in metamaterials
Tunable/reconfigurable/active/nonlinear metamaterials
Chiral and bianisotropic composites
Metamaterials with extreme parameters
Plasmonic metamaterials
Extraordinary transmission
EBG structures, photonic crystals, and their applications
Millimeter wave/THz metamaterials and applications
Optical metamaterials and applications
Antenna applications
Applications in microwave engineering
