We report on the initial tests of a large diameter (12 cm) Iu)(H
uv  
double shell nozzle designed for use with the 300 ns risetime Cvu8X&y  
current pulse (> 6 MA) of the DECADE QUAD [{fF)D<tC  
(DQ) pulsed power machine. The nozzle employs unique -qnXa  
features to simplify construction, enhance gas flow zMHf?HQ-Z  
reproducibility, and reduce fabrication costs. With a large (J?}eb;>n  
4 cm recess, the gas flow at the pinch location is well S'H0nJ3  
collimated and nearly a uniform fill, a flow condition that Dk.9&9mz  
has been shown [1] to give better output than shell-like 4jZi62  
flows for gas z-pinches. t=@Jw  
Results with this nozzle on the Double Eagle simulator T(fR/~:z?  
indicate that such long implosion time pinches are not .w*{=x0k  
hopelessly unstable. K-shell emission is at the levels "ZK5P&d
 
expected from empirical scaling at other peak currents and 4<K ,w{
I  
implosion times. The overall morphology (pulse width bC,M&<N  
and spatial extent) of the pinch can be varied from tight 3K;b~xg`nw  
and concentrated to broad and extended by the choice of eG2qOq$[  
relative pressures in the plenums that drive the two nozzle 6DiA2'{f
