The TEM horn aiiteiiiia, in its niost basic form, consists of two metallic W/AF  
sheets, each ail isoscclcs trianglc will1 tlic angle at the apex being a. The :2K@{~8r  
planes of‘ these triangles are separaled by the angle p, aud the antenna is 6q6xqr:W  
fed by a two-wire transmission line connected at the apices. Fig. 1 shows 5{Q9n{dOh  
the image equivalent of this structure: a single triangular sheet fed throqgh `.J17mQe"  
a metallic image plane by a coaxial line. The structure described above Behaves [c;#>UQMf  
as a transmission line and will support a TEM wave. The characteristic {Ay dt8  
impedance for this wave is a quanlily needed in the design of these antennas.
