Th e transverse electromagnetic (TEM) horn antenna is a popu- lar broadband antenna. The basic antenna is a simple design, -gh',)R  
consisting only of two triangular metal plates and a feeding structure. -[s*R%w  
Neglecting the feeding structure for the moment, the horn is k0?4vA  
described completely by only three variables: a , p, and s. As FyYQ4ov0&o  
shown in Figure 1, a is the angular width of each plate, p is the 9U6y<X  
angular separation between the two plates, and s is the length, [kzcsJ'/e  
measured from the drive point to a comer of the plate. 9u1)Kr=e  
Much of the previous research has focused on modifying the ,JT|E~P?8  
antenna’s structure to improve the performance. These modifications

include resistive loading along the plates [ I , 21 and shaping y-}lz#N  
of the plates [3]. What is interesting is that there is very little ?rWqFM:hb  
design information available for the hasic TEM horn, as compared kf0zL3|
