Abstract—Electromagnetic pulses radiated by parabolic antennas FOx&'dH%@  
and similar structures are needed in many applications O$,MdhyXC  
like air and ground penetrating radar or high power microwaves ET 2@dY~  
(HPM) weapons. In this paper, an approach based on Skulkin and 8RJ^e[?o(  
Turchin’s work and on physical optics approximation in the time amH..D7_>  
domain is developed to determine the radiated fields. Closed-form y,QJy=?  
time-domain expressions of the electromagnetic step and impulse 2[qlEtvQ  
responses, along the axis of a classical parabolic reflector antenna, a@&P\"k  
are derived. A closed-form expression of the impulse response _M;M-hk/  
duration is also given. The obtained E-field and H-field formula zs~v6y@  
are valid along the axis, both near and far from the reflector. Using 8Cw+<A*  
these closed-form expressions, the radiated fields are computed by I>(\B|\6  
means of a convolution product of the primary source excitation vMB`TpZ  
and the impulse response. Numerical results have been obtained 6@[7
